The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has wiped away 10 years of job growth in the hotel industry, according to a recent report from the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
Although leisure travel has picked up this year, business trips have not kept pace, hitting many urban areas especially hard. Compared to 2019 pre-pandemic numbers, the association projects the industry will be short 500,000 jobs by the end of the year.
