Montreal developer Canderel is inviting its employees and associates to lace up for an expanded annual charity event.
Canderel has been holding its annual walk/run for cancer research in Montreal for almost 35 years, but this year the company plans to mobilize from across its 600 employees in seven Canadian offices in an effort to raise $3 million to send to Canadian research hospitals to help cure cancer.
Canderel employees in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Quebec City, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver have been encouraged to customize their activity to whatever they choose, be it basketball, dodge ball or any other enjoyable physical undertaking.
CEO Brett Miller said the event has raised almost $30 million since it began in the 1980s and the company does not limit involvement to company staffers.
“We will host employees, suppliers and clients and all funds will be directed to cancer research activities,” Miller said in an email.
