Healthcare-related positions drive San Diego job growth

Region's overall office-using employment loses ground

After reaching its highest unemployment rate since 2021 this summer, the San Diego region saw a slight improvement in August, with unemployment dipping to 5%, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics report. This is still 10 basis points higher than a year ago, but below California’s statewide unemployment rate of 5.8%.
