Global real estate investment manager Landmark Properties has appointed Alex Katsnelson as senior director of European investment as it continues to expand into the region.
Katsnelson will be responsible for leading Landmark’s investment activities in Europe, executing on new student accommodation investments.
He brings more than 10 years of experience in real estate investment, joining from Harrison Street, where he was responsible for international transactions and expansion.
Katsnelson spent six years at Harrison Street, occupying a number of roles. Prior to that, he held asset management and portfolio management roles at Walton Street Capital.
The recruit joins Tom Banning, who was hired by the Georgia-headquartered student housing developer in May earlier this year as it launched in the UK and Ireland around its 20th anniversary.
In the States, Landmark's portfolio contains 115 residential communities with 71,000 beds under management. Its $5 billion (£3.62 billion) development pipeline is filled with 22 student accommodation and multifamily projects underway or about to start.
Wes Rogers, president and CEO of Landmark Properties, said in a statement: "[Alex's] deep knowledge of the European real estate markets, coupled with his extensive experience successfully executing on many student accommodation deals in Europe, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our European platform.
