Colliers expands Chicago capital markets team; JLL directors target Texas industrial deals; Clise Properties names new CEO 

Colliers appointed Dan Deuter as vice chair in the Chicago area as the brokerage seeks to increase its capital markets business. The company said Deuter will focus primarily on financing of multi-tenant office properties.

The 25-year industry veteran worked most recently as executive managing director of capital markets at Cushman & Wakefield. During his career, Deuter has executed more than $15 billion in commercial real estate transactions.

JLL bolstered its Texas industrial investment sales and advisory team with the relocation of Senior Director Witt Westbrook from Austin to Dallas, and the addition of Rob Ellwood as a director in its Austin office. The company said Ellwood joined JLL from Transwestern, where Westbrook also worked before joining JLL last year.

Seattle-based real estate investment firm Clise Properties said it named Lori Hill as CEO effective Jan. 1. Hill will succeed Dave Cuthill, who is retiring after more than eight years with the company, Clise said. Hill joined the firm as executive vice president of leasing in 2023, having worked for Unico Properties and JLL. She will begin transitioning to her new day-to-day leadership duties on Oct. 14, Clise said.

Avison Young said it named Erik Foster in Chicago and Chris Skibinski in its Charlotte, North Carolina, office as co-leaders of the firm’s U.S. Industrial Capital Markets platform. Both have been with the firm for several years and focus on industrial and capital markets transactions nationwide.

William Hughes joined commercial real estate financing firm Fidelity Bancorp Funding of Costa Mesa, California, as executive managing director after previously leading the capital markets team as a senior vice president at Marcus & Millichap.

Sean Jacobson joined Chicago-based property investment firm Waterton as senior vice president of portfolio management after working at NexPoint Real Estate Advisors and BH Equities.

New York-based global investment firm Aquarian Holdings formed a new division called Aquarian Real Estate Partners, which is to be led by industry veteran Kevin Holmes, who was formerly with Iviron Capital Partners and Athos Capital Partners.

Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Legacy Commercial Property Advisors said it launched One Legacy Property Management, a joint venture with Tulsa-based One Property Management. The venture is led by One Legacy principal Jonathan Cowan and One Property Management director and Partner David Atkinson.

Mark Freyberg, who founded the Freyberg Law Group in 1986, joined the New York office of law firm Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas as a partner in SSRGA's real estate practice group.
