Prize debuts in Poland

Radisson Hotel Group has debuted its Prize brand in Poland with the 125-room, new-build Prize by Radisson, Gdansk, on the Baltic coastline.

IHG signs Egyptian duo

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed management agreements for two Holiday Inn-branded hotels in Aswan, Egypt. The 200-room Holiday Inn Aswan is in partnership with owner Misr Holanda Real Estate and is due to open in January 2030. The Holiday Inn Resort New Aswan, also with 200 rooms, is with owner Avenue for Development and is due to open in January 2031.

Hotel changes Accor brands in Egypt

The Sofitel El Gouna Resort will be the new name for the Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna, following a deal with owner Orascom Development Egypt. The new phase of the Accor-operated, 420-room hotel on the Egyptian Red Sea coast will begin following a phased renovation due to start in 2027.

Pestana skies into Italy

Portuguese firm Pestana Hotel Group has debuted in Italy with Le Massif in the Italian alpine town of Courmayeur, adjacent to Mont Blanc. Pestana, Castello SGR and Oaktree Capital Management own the 80-room hotel.

Anantara completes Victoria Falls makeover

Minor Hotels’ brand Anantara Hotels & Resorts has completed a renovation of its 173-room The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia. The 25-year-old hotel reopened on April 9, with 93 of its keys having been refurbished. The property is notable for co-owning a steam train, The Royal Livingstone Express, with tour operator Bushtracks Africa.

Minor opens Tivoli-branded hotel in Milan

Minor Hotels also opened the 239-room Tivoli President Milano. More than one-quarter of its keys are suites, and the hotel occupies a Brutalist building dating from 1965. Minor has three other Tivoli hotels in Italy, one near to Trieste, the second in Florence and the third in Lecce, Puglia.

IDILIQ acquires in Mallorca

Manchester-based IDILIQ Hotels & Resorts acquired its first hotel on the Spanish isle of Mallorca, the Wyndham Portocolom Resort, which opened on April 1 with 117 rooms. IDILIQ’s portfolio of hotels mainly consists of Wyndham- and Ramada-branded properties.

Kilkenny, Ireland’s Manor House jewel restored to glory

Owner Mount Juliet Estate finished a lengthy renovation that restored 18th century glory to The Manor House in Kilkenny, Ireland. The 1757 mansion sits on 500 acres alongside the River Nore, and contains a Michelin-starred restaurant and a 12-seater cinema. There is a total of 93 rooms on the estate.

Queensway to open two London Point A hotels

Developer and operator Queensway Group will open two Point A Hotels-branded assets in London, the first being a 236-room hotel in the city of London and the second a 105-room hotel in High Holborn.

Hilton finishes Istanbul hotel makeover

In April, Hilton finished its renovation of the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, which first opened in 1955 and has welcomed guests such as Grace Kelly and Louis Armstrong. The $90 million overhaul has touched all 475 guest rooms, as well as the hotel’s other spaces.

Paris’ Pullman Tour Eiffel sold

Morgan Stanley and French firm QuinSpark Investment Partners sold the 430-room, Accor-branded Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel hotel to a consortium managed by Luxembourg-based real estate investment group Batipart Europe. The price was not disclosed, but CoStar lists the acquisition at approximately £374.5 million ($507 million). QuinSpark will continue to operate the hotel, which is to undergo a renovation.

Hard Rock Malta to open in July

The Hard Rock Hotel Malta plans to open this July in St. George’s Bay on the island. Construction started in 2021. It will have 397 rooms, including 25 suites with private heated pools. It will also have 10 restaurants and bars, and a 5,000-square-foot ballroom.

Zetter opens in Bloomsbury

The Zetter Group opened the Zetter Bloomsbury at the beginning of April. The 68-room hotel is opposite of the British Museum. It features one of London’s largest private gardens, an almost 11,000-square-foot space melding “British tradition with subtle Japanese influences.”
