Los Angeles job growth led by healthcare, hospitality as labor market holds steady

Los Angeles County added 35,300 nonfarm jobs over the past year, even as payrolls dipped by 800 positions in June, according to the California Employment Development Department’s latest employment report. The county’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate improved to 5.4% in June from 5.5% in May and was below the 5.7% recorded a year earlier.
