Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation signed a letter of intent to purchase 1002-1008 Hamilton St., in downtown Allentown, PA. Pennsylvania Power & Light is selling the 62,860-square-foot building for $1.4 million, or $22 per square foot. The currently vacant building will be renovated prior to the move in to accommodate more than 250 employees from the department’s District 5 regional offices. The acquisition is contingent upon the sale of the department's current 1713 Lehigh St. location, which PennDoT plans to sell for $5 million. The deal is expected to settle by February 2005.
