Transwestern Real Estate Services hired veteran broker and entrepreneur Ken Loeber to bolster its presence in the fast-growing Carolinas.

Loeber was named regional market leader for Transwestern and will work from its office in Charlotte, North Carolina. He will work with Transwestern executive Micah Larmie in asset services and with Jeff Harris, Southeast regional director for Transwestern’s development company.

Loeber has nearly three decades of industry experience. He previously worked at Eagle Rock Partners, a Charlotte-based project management company he founded in 2013. His clients at Eagle Rock included Amazon, Jeld-Wen and CompuCom. Loeber has also worked for Unispace, Brinjac Engineering, Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and Trammell Crow.

South Carolina and North Carolina outpaced most of the rest of the country in population growth that often equates to demand for new apartments, stores and offices. From July 2021 to July 2022, North Carolina added nearly 100,000 new residents from other states. That's more in-immigration from other states than every state attracted except for Texas and Florida, according to the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management.

South Carolina added 89,368 new people during the same time, including 84,030 who moved there from other states, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

“We are confident [Ken] has the leadership skills and market expertise to strengthen our presence and drive growth in a region that is important to our clients,” Bruce Ford, the Atlanta-based East region president for Transwestern, said in a statement.

At Transwestern, Loeber will be responsible for recruiting staff, business development and managing service delivery. He relishes the opportunity to create things and teams, Loeber said in his LinkedIn profile.

"I have come to realize that at my core I am a Builder," he said. "My passion is for building things and people. Over my career I have been so fortunate to apply that passion in varied ways."

Transwestern has been growing its presence in the Carolinas, two states that have experienced job and population growth over the past decade.

The firm was recently hired to market the sale of 605 Munn Rd. in Fort Mill, South Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. The 168,000-square-foot office building was previously the headquarters for CitiFinancial. It's now occupied by One Main Financial, the new name for CitiFinancial.
