Pennsylvania's Montgomery County has become the most active suburban market for new apartment construction in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Since January 2020, developers have completed 6,597 market-rate units — roughly 25% more than Chester County, which ranks second among the Philadelphia suburbs.
