Prologis leader becomes BPF logistics property board chair
Prologis' UK chief Paul Weston has been named the next chair of the British Property Federation's logistics property board, replacing Segro's David Sleath. In his role as chair, the BPF said Weston will "continue to articulate how the sector is instrumental to the government’s growth agenda and a foundational sector underpinning the economy".
Weston, who has been regional head of Prologis UK since 2018, will be supported by Indurent chief executive Julian Carey, who will work alongside him as vice-chair. The BPF said the pair bring a wealth of experience to the board, having worked in the UK’s industrial and logistics sector for a combined 50 years.
Weston said: "I look forward to working with colleagues across the industry to ensure our voice is heard and that policy enables us to power UK growth, create skilled jobs across the regions and build a more resilient, lower-carbon economy."
Carey added: "As vice-chair, I’m looking forward to working with Paul and the board to champion our vital sector and ensure its contribution to the UK’s industrial strategy is fully recognised."
Kadans ties up Ribbens CEO promotion
AXA IM Alts has promoted Steijn Ribbens to chief executive of Kadans Science Partner, its life sciences development business. Ribbens takes over from Michel Leemhuis, who moves to the newly created role of executive chair management committee. Ribbens, who joined the firm 10 years ago, will be in charge of day-to-day operations and continue the responsibilities involved in his current role as chief investment officer. Leemhuis joined at the same time and has "been instrumental in firmly establishing Kadans as the European market leader", the firm said. "I am honoured to take on the role of CEO at such an exciting moment," Ribbens added.
Avison Young hires director to London place advisory team
Avison Young has appointed a director to its London place advisory team after three years at Montagu Evans. Jasmine Ceccarelli-Drewry will help to "evolve [the firm's] strategy offer, integrating social impact from the outset", the firm said, working with clients across the private sector and multi-asset public sector. At Montagu Evans, Ceccarelli-Drewry was part of the strategic advisory team, where she founded and led the social impact consultancy team for the business. Before joining that firm, she spent more than two years as an area regeneration officer at Hackney Council and advised on public sector strategy and policy.
JLL appoints CEO for value and risk advisory
JLL has appointed Alexandra Bryant as chief executive officer of value and risk advisory, with the agency describing it as a "pivotal step in its move toward next-generation valuation services". With 20 years at JLL spanning EMEA, APAC and the Americas, Bryant brings expertise from her roles as global head of strategy and corporate development and global head of strategy and operations for capital markets. JLL said she will spearhead the evolution of its valuation business into a "scalable, AI-enhanced solution that amplifies human expertise with real-time data insights". Mark Wynne-Smith has been named global lead, asset advisory and services at the same time.
Tishman Speyer recruits four for European expansion
Patrick Bingham has been appointed as a managing director at Tishman Speyers London office as part of a wider European expansion effort by the global real estate firm. Bingham will work in the firm’s portfolio management group, where he will oversee the its European core-plus strategy. He brings 25 years of experience managing pan-European open-ended real estate mandates to the role. Most recently, he was managing director of Morgan Stanley’s Prime Property Fund Europe, where he built and managed a €1.3 billion core fund. Otis Spencer, Oscar Bernaldo de Quiros and Marc Pamin were also appointed as managing directors across Tishman Speyers European offices.
Knight Frank adds experienced surveyor in Glasgow
Knight Frank has added to its commercial valuations team in Scotland with the recruitment of experienced surveyor Thomas Morton as an associate. Morton adds around a decade of experience to the Knight Frank team and joins the independent commercial property consultancy from Lambert Smith Hampton, where he was an associate director. Prior to that, he spent circa seven years at JLL, progressing from a graduate surveyor to associate, having begun his career in tax roles with KPMG. Morton will be based in the Glasgow office and work with the company's clients across Scotland, as well as its teams in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Ringley launches technical property management division
Ringley, the residential property specialist, has appointed Karl Bradley to lead its newly-formed technical property management division. The firm said Bradley, who has been with the firm since 2018, will grow the specialist facilities management team over the next 12 months to "meet the needs of institutional clients, with the ambition of ramping up resource to allocate a technical officer to each operational site." Ringley said the new division responds to what it called the "increasing burden of red tape for real estate owners", such as the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Building Safety Act 2022. It combines facilities management, compliance, fire safety and the BSA.
