Newmark appointed Eric Brown as its head of project management for the Americas. The company said Brown will lead its project management services across the United States, Canada and Latin America, as Newmark seeks to expand its occupier services practice.
Brown is based in the New York area and joined Newmark from project management firm Turner & Townsend. He served earlier in senior director and project manager roles at CBRE, focused on New Jersey and other areas of the tri-state region. He held prior positions at project management firm VVA and JLL.
Jack Wood was promoted to director in the San Diego office of JLL, as the real estate services firm looks to grow its national finance services in manufactured housing. The company said Wood will focus on debt and structured finance transactions for manufactured housing projects across the country, working with advisory personnel in JLL’s capital markets practice. Wood has worked at JLL for five years, most recently as an associate, following earlier work as an analyst in debt and structured finance.
National multifamily investment and development firm Cortland hired Meredith Barry as vice president of business development. The Atlanta-based company said Barry will spearhead expansion of its third-party management services, focusing on securing partnerships with property owners, institutional investors and developers. She brings more than a decade of experience, having joined Cortland from The Bozzuto Group, where she worked most recently as vice president of client services.
Developer TMG Partners expanded its senior management team as part of a larger effort to grow its slate of mixed-use projects and investments in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nicole Diggs is now managing director of asset management, with Parker Larson and Russell Cooper joining the firm as partners. Diggs held prior management roles at PGIM, PCCP and Wareham Development. Larson held leadership positions at Trammell Crow Co. and Southern Land Co., and Cooper worked most recently at Spear Street Capital after serving in prior roles at Shorenstein, Eastdil Secured and Hines.
Douglas Emmett, a West Coast-focused real estate investment trust, said it elected Andy Cohen to its board of directors. Cohen is global co-chair of Gensler, among the world’s largest architecture and design firms, serving earlier as its co-CEO. Santa Monica, California-based Douglas Emmett is among the biggest owners of office and multifamily properties in the Los Angeles and Honolulu regions.
Justin Zale joined business advisory firm Spencer Stuart as a partner. The Chicago-based company said Zale, who's based in New York, will lead its global real estate practice that operates from offices in New York and Stamford, Connecticut. He held prior roles at consulting firms Egon Zehnder and S2K, having begun his career at Credit Suisse.
Bayview PACE, a firm that provides financing services for clean-energy property improvements, hired Michael Billingsley as vice president of transaction management and Ian Wilkin as senior associate in charge of marketing. They will serve the New York and Philadelphia offices of Coral Gables, Florida-based Bayview PACE. Billingsley held prior roles at Nuveen, Freddie Mac, Greystone and Northmarq. Wilkin also worked previously at Nuveen.
Boston-based real estate investment and advisory firm Redgate made several recent promotions and hires, including naming Molly Kennedy and Sara Smith as associate vice presidents. The company said Kennedy is focused on residential project investment and development in its Redgate Capital Partners portfolio, and Smith works with its transition planning and operational readiness practice. Both served the firm previously in project management roles.
