Northrop Grumman, a company providing advanced technology services and products for the aerospace and defense industry, signed a renewal and expansion worth more than $100 million at 1840 Century Park East in Century City, CA. The deal includes a 15-year renewal of the 131,140-square-foot space the company currently occupies, as well as an additional 60,989 square feet that will be occupied as soon as build-out is completed next month. Scheduled to begin at the beginning of the year, the Northrop Grumman Plaza I and II buildings will undergo upgrades to the common areas totaling more than $10 million. The planned upgrades played a large part in the decision by Northrop Grumman to stay in the 19-year-old building. As part of the transaction, Northrop Grumman will have building signage added to the property. Annie Kodak & Kevin O'Connor of CB Richard Ellis Investors and Stanley Gerlach of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord, the California State Teacher's Retirement System, while Weber Wood Meding and Michael Weiner of Colliers Seeley represented Northrop Grumman.
