Executive search and advisory firm Madison Lincoln has appointed Tony Horrell, the former chairman of Colliers UK and Ireland, as senior adviser. He stepped down as the latter's chief executive in 2025 after 14 years at the helm.
The appointment is a significant step in Madison Lincoln’s growth, the firm said, as it continues to expand its advisory offering. It also has plans to expand into specialist areas, including building surveying, project management and real estate finance.
Horrell has more than four decades of experience in real estate and capital markets. He stepped down as Colliers' non-executive chairman in December but is still doing some consultancy work.
In his new role, he will "support strategic growth, strengthen connections with clients and partners, and leverage his extensive network to open new opportunities across the industry", the firm said.
Horrell said: "This role allows me to stay close to the breadth of the industry. Real estate remains a people business at its core, and the ability to connect great talent with the right organisations has never been more important."
Horrell also highlighted the increasing complexity facing the sector, adding: "Businesses today are navigating greater regulation and ongoing market uncertainty, which makes leadership decisions more critical than ever. The cost of getting senior hires wrong is significant, so taking a considered, thorough approach to talent is essential."
Tom McNally, co-founder and managing director of Madison Lincoln, said: "Tony’s appointment is a major milestone for us. As a growing business, we recognised the need to further strengthen our senior advisory capability and credibility in a competitive market.
"Tony brings unparalleled experience, insight and relationships, which will be invaluable to both our team and our clients."
