Strong renter demand, thinning construction helps temper elevated vacancy

Southern New Hampshire's multifamily market, defined by CoStar for analytical purposes as the New Hampshire Beaches, Strafford County and Suburban Rockingham County in the Granite State, has seen apartment vacancy continue to decline to 5.3% as of the second quarter of 2026, a decrease of 40 basis points compared to the same period last year.
