Property consultancy BTG Eddisons has strengthened its Sheffield valuations team with the appointment of senior surveyor James Parkin.
Parkin joins from the valuation and advisory division at Cushman & Wakefield, where he worked across industrial, logistics, retail and office assets.
He is a chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer. He graduated in Real Estate from Sheffield Hallam University and began his property career in the city.
The recruit said: "I’m thrilled to be returning to Sheffield, where I started my property career, and to be joining BTG Eddisons at such an exciting time for the business.
"The firm has ambitious growth plans and a strong reputation in the market, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to support clients across the region and contribute to the continued growth of the Sheffield office."
BTG Eddisons is growing its valuation capability across South Yorkshire and the wider region in response to what it calls "increasing client demand for valuation advice across sectors".
The Sheffield team now has three registered valuers after Jamie Lowe, who joined the office as a graduate surveyor in 2024, recently passed his Assessment of Professional Competence qualification to become a chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer.
Michael Goodare, director at BTG Eddisons in Sheffield, said: “James’ appointment is part of the wider expansion of our South Yorkshire operation and we are delighted to welcome another talented surveyor to the team.
“We continue to see strong demand for valuation advice across the region and have invested in growing the team to ensure we have the expertise and capacity to support clients with an increasing volume and range of instructions.
