The Two Prudential Plaza building, located in Jacksonville, FL, is the newest relocation for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A 10-year lease with the Government Services Administration (GSA) was secured after eight months of negotiations at 701 San Marco Blvd. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will relocate approximately 750 employees across the river from the Charles E. Bennett Federal Building while it undergoes refurbishment. The 167,000-square-foot block of space is on the 3rd through 5th floors and on a portion of the 6th floor of the building. The space became available as a result of Prudential selling part of its business to Aetna Insurance Co. The building fulfilled specific GSA requirements for the Corps relocation including its downtown CBD location, large floor plates with contiguous available space, adequate on-site parking, exceptional on-site facilities management and security. In addition, the location featured an on-site cafe and sundries shop, ease of access and efficient space layout. The move-in will take place in phases and will conclude before the end of the year.
