GE Asset Management purchased 470 Atlantic Ave., a 334,949-square-foot office building in Boston, from Modern Continental Enterprises. Known as Independence Wharf, the 14-story, Class-A building is a landmark property on a historic street-the actual site of the Boston Tea Party on the Fort Point Channel. It offers spectacular views of both the city and waterfront, including a glass wall overlooking the harbor. Newly renovated in August 2001, the building sports a new facade, new windows, and a redesigned lobby and harbor walk. The Financial District is within walking distance with easy access to the subway, commuter rail, water shuttles, and bus routes. Covered parking with interior valet service is also available. Current tenants include Regus Business Centers and Duane Morris LLP. Robert E. Griffin, Jr., Edward C. Maher, Jr., and Marci B. Griffith of Cushman & Wakefield's Financial Services Group, and John P. Fowler, Riaz A. Cassum, and Shawn M. Herlihy of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler arranged the sale transaction.
