Corn Products International Inc. signed a long-term lease for 81,027 square feet of office space at 5 Westbrook Corporate Center in Westchester, IL. The company will move its North American and world headquarters to this new location in two phases. In mid June, the firm will move into approximately 36,113 square feet on the fifth and sixth floors. One month later, it will take occupancy of the remaining 44,914 square feet on the third and fourth floors. Founded in 1906, the company plans to relocate its headquarters from Bedford Park where the firm maintains a corn refining plant. The Westbrook Corporate Center was selected to provide Corn Products with offices more suited to the international nature of its business, in a location central to the firm's existing and desired labor pool. As one of the world's largest corn refiners, Corn Products produces dextrose, starch, high fructose corn syrup and glucose. Last year, the company recorded sales of $1.9 billion with operations in 19 countries at 42 plants, including wholly owned businesses, affiliates, and alliances. Joe Learner, executive vice president, and Laurie Condon, assistant director in the Chicago office of Julien J. Studley Inc. represented Corn Products. Rich Dale, managing director of project management services at Studley, is overseeing the interior construction and relocation process. Chicago-based Interior Construction Group Inc. is the general contractor. Lyle Patterson of Equity Office Properties Trust brokered the deal in-house on behalf of the landlord.
