San Diego’s unemployment rate falls to its lowest level in nearly 12 months

San Diego’s unemployment rate ticked down from 4.2% in March to 4% in April, according to the latest jobs report released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s the lowest rate since May 2024: A year ago, San Diego’s unemployment rate was 3.8%. California’s statewide unemployment rate for April was 5%.
