Blackstone Buys on 5th Ave.

609 Fifth Sells, But Owner Stays

Blackstone Group and the partnership of Jeff Sutton & Eli Gindi have purchased 609 Fifth Ave. The 156,700 square foot office building sold for $65 million or about $415 per square foot. Florida-based Taurus Investment Group and Steven Pressler of Promenade Real Estate Corp. represented the seller, DZ Bank. Eastern Consolidated agents Eric Anton & Ron Solarz represented the buyers. The sellers are remaining in the building and have extended their lease for 15 years with a 5-year option, occupying floors 6, 7, 8, 12 and 13. The recently modernized first-class building is located across from The Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue.
