JSA Inc., a nationally renowned architecture, planning and interior design firm with offices in Jacksonville, Atlanta, Washington, DC and Portsmouth, NH, was named one of four finalists in the international competition to design the $95 million main public library in Jacksonville. Although the partnership of Hardy Holzman Pfieffer Associates and PappasJSA was not the winner in the end, being recognized as a finalist has given the firm an international image in architectural arena. John Falconetti, chairman of the Library Board of Trustees, stated that the firm's design was "innovative and beautiful, as well as the most functional design." PappasJSA, the Southeast regional office of JSA Inc., is an 85-person firm whose practice extends nationally to a variety of markets including healthcare, hospitality, housing, senior living, and education. The firm's clients include Marriott International, TyCOM, St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Federal Court system, and Zhongguancun Life Science Park in Beijing. "The library competition was an opportunity to put a spotlight on architectural talent nationally and here in Jacksonville. I was pleased my firm was a finalist. I'm excited for the future with the team we are building here at PappasJSA," said President Ted Pappas. "Considering these new additions and our long-standing portfolio in the Florida market, JSA is extremely well-positioned to provide even more creativity and value to those we serve in this state, the southeast and now around the world," Pappas added.
