We need more than business rate tweaks to revive the high street

Much more meaningful reductions are required

Andy Burnham described his recent announcement to cut 20% from the business rates for pubs, clubs and music venues as a first step. For our declining town centres and high streets, a lot more will need to follow which must go beyond tinkering with the existing business rates system to make a significant difference.
