The Proscenium Welcomes Acuity Brands

New Tenant Leases Approximately 26,000 SF

Acuity Brands Inc. has selected The Proscenium office tower in Midtown as home for its new corporate headquarters at 1170 Peachtree St. Acuity Brands is comprised of the Acuity Lighting Group, the world’s largest lighting fixture manufacturer, and Acuity Specialty Products, a leading provider of specialty chemicals. The tenant will occupy the entire top (24th) floor of the building and a portion of the 23rd floor for a total of 25,980 square feet in the 527,523-square-foot, Class-A office property. James S. Balloun, chairman & CEO of Acuity Brands, commented, "We are excited about our upcoming move to The Proscenium building. Having been headquartered in Midtown for many years, we are pleased to contribute to the continuing business development and commercial real estate growth in this area. This is a great community and, as corporate citizens, we look forward to showing continued support of Midtown." Dave Kilborn and Lance Healy of Carter & Associates ONCOR International brokered the deal on behalf of Acuity Brands, and Amy Cate of Trammell Crow Co. negotiated for the landlord, a partnership of Trammell Crow and Triad Properties. said Cate, "We are so pleased to have Acuity Brands as a tenant in The Proscenium as it really speaks to the overall prominence of the building. Acuity Brands captures the essence of the building by bringing prestige and recognition, and we are pleased that they have selected our building as the location of their new headquarters. Additionally, this marks a milestone for The Proscenium, bringing its total occupancy to approximately 70%."
