RadioShack Corp. had outgrown its current headquarters, the Charles D. Tandy Center in Fort Worth, TX, and needed a new corporate facility. The electronic giant with involvement by numerous state and federal agencies successfully closed on the purchase of the 23-acre Ripley-Arnold tract from the Fort Worth Housing Authority. Since the tract adjoins land already owned by RadioShack, the company can assemble 50 contiguous acres of land for a new 1 million square-foot corporate headquarters.
