Tommy Ciccarone joined Avison Young’s Philadelphia office as a principal. He will grow the firm’s market presence and expand its brokerage and advisory services throughout Chester County, Pennsylvania, and the Philadelphia suburbs, the company said.
Ciccarone, who joined Avison Young from Bennet Williams Commercial, has a background in landlord and tenant representation, business development and client advisory services. He also has worked at Precision Realty Group, where he advised property owners, investors and occupiers across various commercial asset types throughout the region.
Manali McCarthy joined Dermody as a vice president. The firm, based in Seattle, is a diversified private equity investment management company that focuses exclusively on the national logistics real estate sector. In her new role, McCarthy will lead investor communications and interaction, support fundraising efforts and develop and implement programs to achieve company and investor objectives alongside Kathleen Briscoe, the firm’s chief capital officer, Dermody said. She joins from Third Economy, where she served as principal for environmental, social and governance, and sustainability.
Melissa Strickland joined JLL as a senior vice president and New Jersey Workplace strategy lead in the firm's Parsippany office. She will advise clients on workplace strategy, change management, space programming and planning and design for large projects throughout the state, the firm said. Strickland, who has over 20 years of design experience across the technology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, legal and financial industries, previously served as a principal and managing director of HLW’s New Jersey office.
A little over a year since announcing its international expansion, Maryland-based Walker & Dunlop continued that push with the appointment of Tim Gibb as managing director of capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Gibb, based in London, brings over 20 years of experience to the role; he joined Walker & Dunlop from Wells Fargo, where he was managing director for the firm's commercial real estate division and a senior member of its lending team, focusing on industrial, logistics, multifamily, student housing, data centers, office and retail assets.
BKM Capital Partners appointed Mike Valdes as its chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Succeeding the retiring Bill Galipeau, who will support the handoff to Valdes, who previously served as BKM’s senior managing director of finance and accounting, BKM said.
Valdes joined the firm in 2018 and spent the past eight years working on building out BKM’s finance and operations platform. A licensed certified public accountant, he previously worked for eight years at PwC, where he advised alternative and traditional asset managers.
Dallas-based Canyon Real Estate added Scott Swisher as a managing director and head of Western region credit originations; Adam Ostrowsky as managing director of capital markets; Scott San Filippo as senior director of bridge debt and Spencer Schlee as managing director and head of opportunistic equity. Swisher, Ostrowsky and San Filippo will report to Jacob Feingold, partner and head of originations at Canyon, the firm said.
West Palm Beach’s Westlight Capital appointed new Vice Presidents Jay Glickman and Cloe Eiber to the firm’s investment leadership team. Glickman will aid sourcing, underwriting, structuring and executing investments while overseeing asset management initiatives across the company portfolio, Westlight said.
Eiber will focus on sourcing and executing investments and helping oversee portfolio growth.
Glickman joined the firm from Vero Sade, the multifamily investment division of Vero Capital, where he served as chief acquisition officer. Eiber joined from Rockwood Capital, where she worked as a vice president.
