Newmark expands Texas property management team; CBRE grows hotel practice; new Franklin Street leader pursues Atlanta business
Newmark appointed Carla Malone as vice president of property management in Dallas as the firm seeks to increase its regional presence in that service category. Malone has 20 years of experience representing institutional and private clients across multiple property categories.
Malone served most recently as managing director at Lincoln Property Co. in Dallas and earlier held leadership roles at Cushman & Wakefield.
CBRE expanded its hotel advisory practice with the addition of Zak Brodstein, who previously worked at Hodges Ward Elliott, as an associate in CBRE's Denver office, as the company looks to boost its profile in the hospitality segment in the Mountain West, Midwest and Southwest.
Commercial real estate services firm Franklin Street hired industry veteran Chris White as market leader in charge of office occupier services in Atlanta, where White will spearhead the launch of a new regional tenant representation business line, having previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield and Savills.
New hires, promotions and other personnel changes

JLL named Sam Schaefer as CEO of its property management practice to lead its globalization efforts from the firm’s Boston office after prior executive work at Trammell Crow Co., Hobbs Brook Real Estate and Tishman Speyer.
JLL also expanded its Charlotte, North Carolina, office, adding Vice President John Kincaid and naming Jack Trew and Maria Downs associates on its industrial team. JLL’s tenant representation team in that city added Jarmere Jenkins and MaryKate Kalinock as associates and promoted Ellyn Casto to analyst.
Strategic Retail Advisors of Newport Beach, California, led by Partners Barclay Harty and Motti Farag, said it acquired and merged with CCP Real Estate Advisors, a firm led by Chris Frederick, Randall Dawson and Sam Moore. SRA said the merger boosts its presence in Southern California tenant representation and retail hospitality services.

Kris Murphy joined real estate advisory firm TSCG as vice president of landlord services in its Atlanta office after working at Columbia Properties, where she directed leasing and marketing for that firm’s entire retail portfolio.
Commercial real estate finance firm Greystone hired Joe James as head of asset management for bridge lending in its Dallas office, where he will oversee healthcare and multifamily transactions after previously working at Preston Hollow Capital and other firms over his 30-year career.
Jemima McCullum joined Buchalter's Seattle office as a shareholder in the real estate practice group.
