Orange County reverses population loss in 2024

Gains concentrated in larger OC cities

Orange County, California’s population increased by nearly 16,000 in 2024, according to newly released statistics from U.S. Census Bureau. That 0.5% increase marked a rebound from 2021-23, when annual losses averaged -0.3%. Due to heavy domestic migration losses in those years, Orange County’s population remains about 0.5% below its 2020 total at 3.17 million.
