Colliers grows national retail team; Cushman hires industrial executive in San Francisco; JLL adds office brokers in Indianapolis

New hires, promotions and other personnel changes

Brokers Rhett Batanides and Anne Myers Gary have joined Colliers' Charlotte, North Carolina, office bringing 15 years of combined experience to the firm’s national retail team. Batanides joined as an executive vice president and Myers as a senior associate.

The pair, who previously worked at Foundry Commercial, specialize in national retail expansions. At Colliers, the two will focus on national retail leasing and advise clients across the commercial real estate landscape, the firm said. Batanides has held prior roles at Newmark and as a combat pilot with the U.S. Airforce. Myers previously worked at Tradd Commercial Real Estate, where she was an associate.

Jon Owens and Josh Graham have joined JLL’s Indianapolis office leasing advisory and sales team, with Owens as the group’s newest executive vice president and Graham as senior vice president. Owens, an Indianapolis native, brings over 35 years of experience to the firm, with Graham bringing another 11 years of life sciences, healthcare, tech and professional services know-how to the role. The two joined from Cushman & Wakefield.

CBRE added Robert Koontz as a new senior managing director and head of multifamily debt capital markets for the firm’s debt and structured finance team. Koontz will work nationally alongside Kelli Carhart, head of multifamily capital markets, and will report to James Millon, co-head of capital markets, U.S. and Canada, the firm said. Based between Washington, D.C., and New York, Koontz brings over 25 years of experience to the position.

Miami-based MASS Construction appointed Jessica Acosta-Rubio as vice president of strategy. In her new role, Acosta will lead strategic business development initiatives and cultivate relationships with developers, property owners, architects, interior designers, hospitality brands and commercial real estate professionals, the company said. She brings over 15 years of experience to the role, having previously worked at Venn, a commercial real estate technology company.

Cushman & Wakefield added Melinda Marino as a managing director on the firm’s San Francisco-based industrial capital markets team. Marino joined Cushman from JLL. In her new role, she will cover industrial and land development site transactions across Northern California, the Central Valley and Bakersfield, Cushman said.

New York-headquartered Newmark hired David Yepes for its valuation and advisory practice. In his new role as director, Yepes, based in San Jose, Costa Rica, will help expand the firm’s reach throughout Central America, Colombia and the Dominican Republic, Newmark said. He brings over 10 years of experience to the position, having previously worked at Logan Valuation, a commercial real estate appraisal and consulting firm.

Houston’s Partners Real Estate appointed Jen Suddreth as director of property management. Suddreth will oversee the firm’s Houston and Dallas property management operations and lead property and engineering team’s service delivery for clients and their assets, the company said. She brings over two decades of experience to the role. Most recently, she served as a vice president at JLL, where she directed a portfolio of more than 3 million square feet of office and retail space.
