Carolinas hotel pipeline expands as development outpaces U.S. growth

Hotel development activity has accelerated in the Carolinas. Approximately 8,700 rooms are under construction across 69 hotels, representing 3% of the region's existing inventory, according to CoStar data. For comparison, rooms under construction nationwide represent 2.4% of the industry's supply. Additionally, another 17,800 rooms are in final planning across 160 projects.
