Bidwells said it has successfully delivered the first phase of its Nexus 2030 growth strategy, which has set out to create the platform for major expansion.
It added chief operating officer Kelly Bream will step down from her role after three years of work on the project.
In May last year, the 185-year-old property consultancy Bidwells revealed plans to double the size of its business by 2030.
The Cambridge-based company said it plans to hire an additional 200 to 250 people and inject significant investment into the business over the next six years. It said these funds will be used to diversify and deepen the firm's service offering in sectors and regions in which it is already well-established, such as science and technology and the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.
They will also be used to expand its provision in other high-value sectors such as natural capital.
Bidwells said that during this period it has modernised its operations, strengthened its leadership and established a robust platform for future expansion.
The firm flagged a number of significant milestones, including its national expansion into Manchester and Bristol, the development of its operational living sector strategy and becoming the first multi-disciplinary property advisory firm in the UK to secure B Corp certification. It said this has set a new benchmark for sustainability and social responsibility in the property sector.
Nick Pettit, senior partner at Bidwells, said in a statement: “Kelly has been instrumental in ensuring Bidwells is ready for the future. Her ability to create the operational foundations to support our long-term ambitions, including Nexus 2030, has been invaluable. On behalf of the partnership, I want to thank her for the impact she has made in preparing the business for its next stage of growth.”
Bream said: “When I joined Bidwells, my ambition was always to deliver a transformation that would prepare the business for the next phase of its strategy. Working alongside such a talented team, we have delivered meaningful change that has modernised the business, enhanced its sustainability credentials, and positioned it for long-term success. I am proud to have delivered this transformation and now hand over to the leadership team to take the business forward.”
Bidwells said Bream will remain in place to ensure a "smooth transition" before moving on to a new venture in 2026.
