Milwaukee Pursues Upzoning Initiative To Combat Housing Crisis

Milwaukee’s new mayor, just the fifth to be elected to the city’s top position since 1948, has an aggressive vision for Milwaukee’s future. Despite seeing a 160,000-person decline in population since peaking at 740,000 residents in the 1970 census, Milwaukee finds itself in the midst of a housing crisis.
