Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian fashion designer known by colleagues as "Re Giorgio," died this week at age 91, but his legacy lives on in the fashion house's luxury residences and sales underway for its second property in South Florida.

Armani, born in the northern Italian city of Piacenza in July 1934, rose to prominence in the 1960s working for Italian fashion house Cerruti. It was in Milan, however, that he launched what is today the $2.7 billion fashion empire bearing his name.

In the early 2000s, Armani Group launched Armani/Casa as the company's furniture and home design division. It later expanded into branded residences with the opening of its first luxury condominium in South Florida’s Sunny Isles Beach in 2019.

The designer's brand extends globally, with Armani’s sharp eye influencing properties in London, Beijing, Tel Aviv, Istanbul and Mumbai. The company also has two branded hotels in Dubai and Milan.

In the U.S., New York's Upper East Side is home to the 10-unit Giorgio Armani Residences that opened this year. And Armani/Casa is continuing the designer’s work with its second South Florida project, Armani/Casa Residences Pompano Beach, with sales underway and completion anticipated in 2028. Prices for the 28 units start at $5 million.
