The fourth quarter is usually among the busiest times of the year for industrial leasing activity as companies typically expand their distribution center or manufacturing operations to keep pace with orders from holiday spending during the several weeks leading up to the end of the year. But that was not the case last year as industrial tenant demand in the fourth quarter as measured in net absorption, the change in occupied space, plunged to a 13-year low.
