Cushman pursues Texas office investment business
Kelsey Shebay joined the Austin, Texas, office of Cushman & Wakefield as an executive managing director in capital markets and office investment advisory. She joins from JLL. A 20-year industry veteran, Shebay started her career with HFF in Dallas before that firm was acquired by JLL. She has handled property finance transactions valued at more than $10 billion.
At Cushman, her new role will focus primarily on Central Texas. At the firm, she will collaborate with colleagues across Cushman’s capital markets platform of office advisory services as it seeks to expand its investment presence in the growing region.
ISS bolsters Eastern region team
Global facilities management firm ISS North America appointed Brad Lurie as vice president of sales for its Eastern region. He's based in Atlanta. The company said Lurie will lead business development in areas such as facility performance, workplace experience and food service operations.
Lurie most recently served as senior vice president of aviation at ABM Industries, leading business development tied to airports and airlines. He held earlier leadership roles at Phoenix Products Co. and its subsidiary Bright Light Systems, where he co-founded and led the firm’s lighting controls business.
AEW hires retail chief in Boston
Real estate services firm AEW Capital Management hired Lauren Holden as managing director and head of retail, based in its Boston headquarters office. In the newly created position, Holden will lead the firm’s global retail team in all elements of the business, the company said. She will report to Mike Byrne, AEW’s chief investment officer and head of private equity.
Holden most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at ShopCore Properties, a company that is now part of Blackstone's Perform Properties. She worked earlier at Clarion Partners, where she was managing director and head of retail, as well as Equity One, serving as executive vice president of investment management before its merger with Regency Centers. She started her career at Kimco Realty, working in acquisitions before being elevated to portfolio manager.
Berkadia targets Pittsburgh multifamily deals

Laura Lawrence joined Berkadia as managing director at its office in Pittsburgh, where she will focus primarily on multifamily investment sales in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Lawrence joined New York-based real estate services firm Berkadia from CBRE’s multifamily investment sales team in Pittsburgh.
The 12-year industry veteran has closed more than $1.6 billion in transactions since 2021. Lawrence will report to Mike Miner, senior vice president and co-head of investment sales and production operations at Berkadia.
Real estate specialist returns to Chicago law firm

Law firm Neal Gerber Eisenberg said David Theyssen returned to the Chicago-based company as a partner in its real estate practice group. Theyssen previously worked at NGE from 2011 to 2019, rising from associate to partner during his tenure. He worked most recently as a partner at law firm Gozdecki, Del Giudice, Americus & Brocato in Chicago.
Theyssen has represented clients nationwide, including real estate investment trusts, private investment firms, banks and high-net-worth individuals.
He has handled transactions involving retail centers, office buildings, multifamily properties, industrial and senior living facilities.
