Global investment firm KKR paid a more than 50% premium to acquire two Amazon fulfillment centers in the northern tip of the Chicago metropolitan area. The deal exemplifies the white-hot demand for real estate tied to the online shopping supply chain — and especially properties occupied by the company leading the e-commerce vanguard — as well as the strength of the region's industrial market.
