Jack Fraker, who led a globetrotting team of industrial sales staff at brokerage CBRE, joined rival firm Newmark as president and head of the firm's industrial and logistics real estate as it seeks to bolster its global capital markets business.
Newmark said the addition of Fraker, who's considered a rainmaker in the industry, "further emphasizes Newmark's commitment to its Capital Markets business across verticals and the growth of its global foothold through organic productivity growth, acquisitions and hires." Not including his participation in deals with a larger team, Fraker personally has completed $85 billion of deals spanning 1.5 billion square feet and about 12,000 acres of development sites in more than 60 U.S. cities and in Mexico, Europe, Japan and South America.
He has nearly four decades of leadership in industrial capital markets representing some of the largest global investors, national companies, pension fund advisers and real estate investment trusts.
Before joining Newmark, Fraker worked at CBRE for nearly two decades where he most recently served as vice chairman, managing director and head of global industrial and logistics. He left the Dallas-based firm, the world's largest commercial property brokerage by revenue, in late 2021.
Newmark's capital markets advisory group has seen "dramatic growth," and has been an important component of the company's national and global acceleration, said CEO Barry Gosin.
“We expect to continue this momentum, striving to attract top industry talent across verticals and aligning our advisors’ capabilities to meet client needs," Gosin said in a statement. "Jack, a household name in the industrial investment sector, will be an incredible value-add and help to drive forward Newmark’s client offerings.”
Fraker, who was not immediately available for an interview, said Newmark is known for having a deep bench of talent and "prioritizing client needs through an entrepreneurial culture," and the strength of its capital markets practice. He added the "palpable spirit of collaboration and vision among Newmark professionals," led to his decision to join the firm.
Fraker joins Newmark after another high-profile capital markets team joined the brokerage firm's Dallas office from CBRE in early 2020. The Dallas office of Newmark is led by Ran Holman, who is building the firm's Lone Star platform. Newmark is in the process of consolidating in Dallas from three offices into one in Uptown.
He has earned multiple awards throughout his career, including SIOR's largest transaction award for industrial and investment in 2017, the prestigious Stemmons Service Award, a top honor given by the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors. He also serves on the board of directors of the Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep school.
Before he joined CBRE in 2003, Fraker spent 16 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as an executive vice president in the global brokerage firm's capital markets practice and held a position on the board of directors.
