Downtown San Antonio and Emerging Suburban Areas Lead Multifamily Growth

Downtown multifamily development is not unique to San Antonio, but until recently, the urban core of the nation’s 24th-largest metropolitan area was expanding at a pace that matched its established suburban counterparts, such as the city’s northwest side. Today, however, that dynamic appears to have changed, as development in familiar suburban areas lags behind that of downtown San Antonio and new suburbs further from downtown.
