New leadership takes reins at Savills

Savills' new group chief executive Simon Shaw has taken up the role effective 1 January.

Shaw takes the helm after almost 17 years as Group CFO. He succeeds Mark Ridley who retired at the end of 2025.

Simon Shaw joined Savills in March 2009 as chief financial officer with responsibility for all financial matters, significant M&A, technology and investor relations.

He has been a member of the global and regional executive committees. In addition, he has been responsible to the board of for Savills Investment Management. Shaw is chairman of Grosvenor Hill Ventures, the company's proprietary private equity investment subsidiary focused on proptech.

Savills has previously announced Nick Sanderson of Great Portland Estates will join as new chief financial officer in the spring.

Stacey Cartwright, chair of Savills, said in a statement: "Simon is highly experienced and a respected Savills Executive. Having worked as Group CFO for almost 17 years he has a deep understanding of the organisation and will be instrumental in developing Savills business worldwide."

Shaw added: "It is a huge privilege to take on the leadership of Savills. I have worked alongside the many talented people within our worldwide business who are highly driven and committed to strategic development and conviction-led growth, to the benefit of our clients, our staff and shareholders.
