UK hoteliers predict Oasis reunion could spark same demand levels as Eras Tour

The desire to see the world’s most popular musicians in concert has delivered hotels in the United Kingdom and Ireland swells of demand and revenue. The summer leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has come to an end in the U.K. and Ireland, but next year, the reunion tour of Manchester rock band Oasis could spark similar success for hoteliers as fans rush for tickets and rooms.

Adele’s residency drove substantial gains in Munich hotel performance

In more music-related news, Adele’s 10-day residency drove significant performance growth for Munich’s hotel industry, according to STR, CoStar’s hotel-analytics division. Adele performed a total of 10 nights at the Messe München, “pushing double-digit growth across the August metrics: Occupancy (+15.9% to 77%), average daily rate (+46.6% to €159.04) and revenue per available room (+69.9% to €122.46).

Israel Canada Hotels acquires Brown Hotels Collection

Publicly traded Israeli real estate firm Israel Canada has announced it has signed two non-binding memorandums of understanding and acquired the operations, management and portfolio of Israeli hotel firm Brown Hotels Collection. The hotel firm will be absorbed into DNA Group, which is controlled by Israelis Barak Rosen and Asi Touchmair, who also control Israel Canada.

Luxury Hotel Maria brings higher level of service to Helsinki visitors

The opening of a new luxury hotel in Finland’s capital Helsinki is bringing a quality of hospitality to the city that travelers and locals are craving. Fully open since June, the 117-room Hotel Maria is located in Kruununhaka district of the city.

Épopée Gestion joins forces with Younight Hospitality for its hotel fund

Épopée Gestion has formed a strategic partnership with the Vicartem group, via its hotel management company Younight Hospitality, to acquire and redevelop hotel assets in the Atlantic coast. CoStar's French real estate news outlet Business Immo reports Épopée Gestion will utilize its Épopée Hôtels I fund, which was launched at the beginning of the year,

Deals and developments

Paris-based Inwood Hotels has acquired the 45-room Five Seas Hitel Cannes in the French Mediterranean town of Cannes. It is the owner’s 13th hotel — all are in France — and is part of Marriott International soft brand Design Hotels.

Owner Primestar Group and Hilton have opened the 355-room Hampton by Hilton Vienna City West, which they claim is the brand’s largest hotel by room count in mainland Europe.

Rixos Hotels, part of Accor, has opened the Rixos Tersane Istanbul, its 13th hotel in Turkey. On the European side of the country, the 499-room hotel sits on the Golden Horn estuary of the Bosphorus River and includes 67 suites.

In an agreement with owner Prevario Banyols and management firm Hotel Collection International, IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce its Vignette Collection soft brand to the Spanish isle of Mallorca with the 45-room Vignette Collection Mallorca-Finca Banyols.

Danish hotel-management company Core Hospitality will rebrand the A Place to Hotel Esbjerg, located in the suburb of Copenhagen. The deal with Marriott International will see in early 2025 the opening of the Element by Westin Esbjerg, which is the first Marriott hotel outside of the Danish capital. The current hotel has 117 rooms, but there is no indication of the upcoming room count.

Swedish owner Pandox has agreed to acquire the 138-room DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre in the Scottish capital from Starwood Capital Group for £49 million. The current franchise agreement with Hilton is to expire in 2027.

Edinburgh-based investment firm Abrdn has sold the 291-room Motel One London Tower Hill for £56 million. The 94-room hotel is managed by the German hotel firm Motel One under a long lease.

Kerzner International will open its first hotel in Europe in spring 2025, the Siro Boka Place in Tivat, Montenegro, a very short walk from the Bay of Kotor. It will have 96 rooms and 144 managed residences.

Independent hotel Villa Dahlia opened next to Stockholm’s Tegnérlunden Park with 103 rooms and a restaurant serving Swedish and Italian fare.

IHG is returning to Serbia after a 20-year hiatus with the 203-room InterContinental Belgrade, which is opening in the country’s capital in partnership with owner Delta Holding. It is due to open by the end of 2026.

Hilton has signed a management agreement with owner Allsco Gravenbruch Hotelbetriebsgesellschaft mbH to start operating the 225-room Hilton Frankfurt Gravenbruch from this October. It is Hilton’s ninth hotel in Frankfurt.

Radisson Hotel Group has debuted its Radisson Red brand in Berlin with the 133-room Radisson RED Berlin Kudamm, which opened on Sept. 19.

Hyatt Hotels Corp. has opened the 127-room Brunfels Hotel in the German city of Mainz. The property will be part of Hyatt’s soft brand, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
