M&S signs for Welham Green hub and shuts Neasden site as part of clothing logistics shake up

M&S is to open a 495,000 sq ft clothing home and distribution centre in Welham Green, Hertfordshire, in 2019 as part of a restructuring of its logistics network that will see operations at its Neasden hub transfer to other sites.

M&S said that as part of its five-year transformation plan,  it is taking on the 495,000 sq ft site from Tesco and it will be "transformed into a mechanised clothing distribution centre, serving 150 stores in the South East". The former Tesco site will be operated by a third-party logistics supplier, employing over 500 people.
