Department store closures continue to steamroll Cincinnati's retail market, leaving gaping wounds at many area malls. The most recent announcement comes from Macy’s, which was founded in New York City but has been headquartered in Cincinnati from 1994 to 2020. The company consolidated its headquarters operations to New York last year and plans to reduce its store count by 125 locations by 2023.
