Northmarq targets Philadelphia multifamily business
Northmarq said it added Lizann McGowan as managing director in its multifamily investment sales division, as the brokerage expands services geared to that category in the Philadelphia region. McGowan is a 25-year industry veteran who has handled more than $12 billion in multifamily transactions across the Northeast.
McGowan worked most recently at Newmark, where she was recruited in 2018 to establish that firm’s multifamily investment sales team covering Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. She began her career at Cushman & Wakefield and later joined CBRE, where she led the firm’s Philadelphia multifamily investment sales practice.
Diversified Partners expands in Phoenix
Diversified Partners launched its first investment sales team with the hiring of three executives in the Phoenix region led by Managing Director Stan Sanchez, who has more than four decades of commercial real estate, development and business ownership experience. The other two team members are John Jackson as senior vice president of investment sales and Kristina Remon as vice president of investment sales, the Scottsdale-based commercial brokerage and development firm said.
All three worked previously at Colliers in the Phoenix region, where Sanchez and Jackson served as senior vice presidents focused on retail services. Remon was an associate vice president at Colliers and worked earlier at Avison Young.
Concord Summit taps finance executive in Los Angeles
Commercial real estate financing firm Concord Summit Capital appointed industry veteran Jack McLarty as managing director of its capital markets group based in Los Angeles. The company said McLarty will handle originations, structuring and other functions geared to real estate debt and equity financing transactions across multiple categories. The areas of focus include multifamily, office, retail, hospitality, industrial and mixed-use properties.
McLarty joined Concord Summit from Provident Bank, where he is credited with originating one of the largest loans in the firm’s nearly 200-year history. Before Provident, McLarty founded and served as managing director of the capital markets platform at First National Realty Partners. He held earlier roles at Mirae Asset Securities & Investments, JP Morgan, Bank of China and Israel Discount Bank.
Berkadia grows San Diego investment sales team

Berkadia added three managing directors to its team in San Diego. The brokerage firm said John Chu, Ed Rosen and Tyler Sinks will focus on investment sales.
The industry veterans joined Berkadia from Northmarq’s multifamily investment sales team in San Diego, where they focused on client development, marketing, research, valuation and sales.
Prior to their work at Northmarq, Chu, Rosen and Sinks spent eight years at Berkadia, focused on Southern California multifamily transactions. All three worked earlier at Cushman & Wakefield.
Combined, the trio has more than 75 years of experience, having completed nearly 500 transactions totaling over $17 billion.
NAI Capital Commercial expands director’s duties

Jim Kruse has been named executive managing director at NAI Capital Commercial. Based in the company’s West Los Angeles office, Kruse joined the firm earlier this year as director of brokerage for NAI Capital’s 13 offices across Southern California. The company said his new role expands his leadership responsibilities. After leading functions such as recruitment and training, his new duties include overseeing more day-to-day operations, NAI Capital said.
Kruse joined NAI Capital from Kidder Mathews, where he served as regional president of brokerage for the firm’s Los Angeles offices. The 38-year industry veteran held prior roles at CBRE, Grubb & Ellis, Cushman & Wakefield and DPI Retail. He is a former All-America water polo player who competed for the U.S. National and Olympic water polo teams for seven years, later serving as an Olympics commentator for ABC and NBC Sports.
