Hiring ticks up in San Diego

Accommodation and food services lead monthly job gains

San Diego’s unemployment rate edged down to 4% in May, according to the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That compares to a revised rate of 4.1% in April and to last May’s local unemployment rate of 3.6%. California’s statewide unemployment rate was 4.9% in the latest report.
