Property auction veteran Oliver Childs has joined Sanderson Weatherall as national head of property auctions.
Childs previously served as managing director at BidX1 UK and as national head of auctions at Lambert Smith Hampton and has 30 years' experience.
Sanderson Weatherall said he is a pioneer in online property auctions, having executed one of the first online sales of commercial real estate in the UK in 2015 for Severn Trent Water.
Childs said in a statement: “I have worked with their restructuring and receivership team for the past 25 years, so this feels like a natural enhancement of my career.
“My intention is to expand the team and broaden our auction offering, and I am confident that SW auctions will provide a well-established, flexible and intelligence led auction service with multiple unconditional and conditional solutions to benefit our longstanding and developing client, customer and partner led client base.
"It’s a people business that sprinkles on top some tech magic at the right time during the sales process to help us achieve the optimum outcome for our clients."
David Rastrick, chief operating officer at Sanderson Weatherall, added: "The appointment of Oliver Childs is a further strategic step forward for our firm. His 30 years of experience, combined with his pioneering work in online auctions, makes him the ideal person to help further expand our already successful national auctions division.
“His appointment will not only expand our reach in this growing sector but also deliver further significant value to our clients and partners.”
