High Court rules in favour of Lidl in Brentwood feud

A High Court judge has ruled in favour of Lidl after developer Generator Developments tried to sue the discount supermarket chain at the start of the year, alleging Lidl had exploited the joint venture’s arrangement to secure a 2.4-acre mixed-use development site in Brentwood, Essex.

A claim filed by Generator Developments at the High Court in January contended it had become the "preferred bidder" to buy the land at Wates Way in 2014 but it "allowed" Lidl to purchase the plot on the understanding that both of the parties would develop it.
