Govt commits to RICS IPMS measurement of offices

The UK Government will now adopt the RICS professional statement and measure its estate to new International Property Measurement Standards for Offices (IPMS: Office Buildings).

Matthew Hancock, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General, said in a written ministerial statement: “We will adopt the new International Property Measurement Standard introduced in January 2016 by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which will future-proof the way we measure government buildings and ensure consistency across the UK and internationally.”
