Henry Boot has confirmed that Nick Duckworth will step down from his role as managing director of Hallam Land, the group’s land promotion business, at the end of the year.
Duckworth joined the business in 1992, three years after its formation, and helped to establish the South West office five years later. He held a number of positions before becoming managing director in 2016. He now intends to set up his own strategic land advisory consultancy.
Henry Boot, based in Sheffield, said it had started a process identify Duckworth's successor but that he would remain with the business until the end of the year to allow for an orderly transition.
Duckworth said in a statement: "After 33 years at Hallam Land, I’ve decided that the time is right to step down. Since becoming managing director, I am proud to have played a key role in the success of the business, growing the land bank to over 100,000 residential plots and completing on the sale of over 24,000 plots.
"I leave the business well positioned with a very capable team focused on accelerating projects and planning applications to deliver much-needed homes across the country. Following a short break, my intention is to establish a strategic land advisory consultancy."
Henry Boot CEO Tim Roberts said in a statement: "Nick has made a significant contribution to the success of Hallam Land and is well respected both within the business and the land promotion industry.
