Kim To Lead JLL Valuation Advisory's Chicago Operations

JLL Valuation Advisory hired Tom Kim as managing director to lead its Chicago operations and expand the office's footprint in the Midwest as part of its national growth strategy.

Kim joins JLL from CBRE, where he most recently served as the industrial and self-storage practice leader for its Chicago office. Since 2006, Kim has grown his experience in the valuation of a wide variety of asset classes throughout the Midwest.

In his new role, Kim will focus on driving growth in the market through recruiting and mentoring new team members and collaborating within the valuation advisory group and across the global brokerage's other service lines.

"We have a solid foundation within our Chicago office with a core group that are experts in the market and driven to provide exceptional service," Kim said in a corporate statement announcing his hire. "JLL’s commitment to technology and the valuation group, combined with the strength of the Chicago market, provides an exciting opportunity for continued success and growth."

Kim succeeds managing director Joe Miller, who formerly ran the office and will now focus on leading the group's retail sector nationally. JLL Valuation Advisory employs 2,000 sector-based professionals in 50 countries.

Trammell Crow Residential Expands in Southeast

This will be the company's 17th office in the United States and its second development office in the Sunshine State. Last year, the firm developed five apartment projects totaling 1,444 units in Central and South Florida and it has identified another 11 that could add 3,747 apartments.
