Duncan McCuaig, a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and former executive with Brookfield Properties, has joined Related Ross to help expand the company’s leasing operations in South Florida.
In his new role as executive vice president of office leasing, McCuaig is expected to partner with Related Ross’ development, design and operations teams to lease office space in Palm Beach County. He will focus on tenant curation and work with the existing leasing team to develop a long-term portfolio strategy.
McCuaig will report to Jordan Rathlev, executive vice president of development at Related Ross.
“Related Ross has a clear vision for the future of office and city-building in South Florida, one that is rooted in long-term investment, thoughtful design, and real community impact,” said McCuaig in a press release.
McCuaig’s move arrives as Wells Fargo announced it would be relocating its wealth management division to One Flagler, a 25-story trophy office tower developed by Related Ross in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“Duncan is joining Related Ross at a pivotal moment for our office platform and for West Palm Beach,” said Rathlev in the release. “His strategic insight, industry relationships, and disciplined approach to leasing will be instrumental in attracting world-class companies and shaping office destinations in Palm Beach County that support how businesses operate today.”
For years, McCuaig served as executive vice president and director of leasing at Brookfield Properties’ U.S. office division. He led major lease negotiations in the New York market, with a track record that includes securing 1.3 million square feet for Morgan Stanley at One New York Plaza.
His resume includes the redevelopment and leasing of 5 Manhattan West, Lever House and 660 Fifth Ave., where he helped bring in firms such as Amazon, JPMorgan Chase and Citadel. Most recently, McCuaig oversaw leasing at Brookfield Place, where he helped lease over 1 million square feet in new and renewal commitments.
